SoundScape
Background
You next task is to create a soundscape. A soundscape is a audio picture that you will paint in order to give the listener a sense of time and place without using visuals or words. Use the steps below to guide you through the project.
Steps
- Play a bit with some online soundscape builders: http://www.wildmusic.org/soundscapes/buildsoundscape or http://www.exploratorium.edu/listen/activities/soundscapes/deploy/activity_soundscapes.php or
- Brainstorm on what type of one you wish to make on your own!
- Write out a list of the sound clips you’ll need for this project in a post. You can’t start the next step until I’ve see this on your blog!
- Download as many of the sounds as possible from YouTube using a grabber, for example http://www.youtube-mp3.org/. Record other sounds or effects using a digital recorded.
- Assemble your project using garage band or audacity or AtmosphereLite or even TAPESTREA (much more complicated). I would suggest giving AtmoshpereLite a try, BUT record your creation using audacity:)
- Embed it in your blog! It should be at least 1 minute long.
Evaluation
Make up five categories that you think could be used to evaluate your work and give a five mark weighting to each…post this on your blog as well!!
