For a little more information about Capzles read below:

What is the history and popularity of the application?

Based in Culver City, California, Capzles.com was launched in June 2008. It was founded by Chris Anderson and a partner. The company has so far received $1 million in venture capital funding. Members of the site’s advisory board include Technorati CEO Richard Jalichandra and UltraStar COO Herve de Clerck.

What are the differences to other applications?

Capzles’ main competition comes from sites like Flickr and YouTube. Both of these sites offer multimedia sharing capabilities, but none as comprehensive as Capzles’. In addition, they do not have the timeline format offered by Capzles. Flickr allows you to view a slide show that can be placed in chronological order, and YouTube gives you the ability to edit a video clip made up of separate clips that can be placed in chronological order. However, neither site offers the direct ability to combine different types of multimedia material that can be easily viewed in timeline form.

How does the application look and feel to use?

The entire Capzles site is done in Flash, and has a very sleek design. There are no ads displayed on the site. The site is very responsive, particularly given that it contains a lot of multimedia content. Pictures enlarge quickly when clicked on and videos load and play quickly. Navigation is intuitive, with a convenient top menu bar shown on all pages of the site. The headings on the navigation bar include My Stuff, Explore, Create and Share. There is also a search bar at the top of each page on the site that allows you to search Capzles, Moments, Profiles or Take a Flying Leap! which takes you to a random destination on the site.
