FairyTale
This is a special mission, top ops, undercover assignment.
What makes it so important is that YOUR CREATION will be a GIFT to a student in the preschool!! That’s right, your work will be used for telling a popular Fairy Tale. This requires rapid collection of data on your part as you will only have this week (4 classes) to come up with a finished product!
1. Choose a fairy tale, some of the possible topics are:
The 3 Little Pigs, The Three Bears, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretal, Chicken Little, The Ugly Duckling, The Gingerbread Man, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Jack and the Beanstalk, Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Shoemaker and the Elves, Pinocchio.
2. Now go online and find the story. The original. Do an ADVANCED Search on google like this:
all these words: the story of
this exact wording or phrase: your topic
filetype: Microsoft Word (.doc)
3. Download or save a copy of the story into a folder that you create in the O:drive that has Your Name & The NAME OF THE STORY.
4. Now the work begins. For every twenty words come up with an image that is appropriate to the story and the words. You may find many images directly from sites that have the proper images, or you may be searching google images a bit to make it all work. Each picture you download shoud be put in the same folder as the story.
5. Now open up Microsoft Power Point and begin to create the PICTOGRAPH. The little ones in preschool could use a word or two spelt out in super large font. For example, in Little Red Riding Hood you could write the word WOLF under the wolf as he appears in the story. But for the most part all you must do is arrange the pictures in order for every twenty words.
6. Each slide should have to be clicked on to continue, as the Teacher reading the story will be telling it at his/her own pace.
7. You may wish to have some originality with pictures entering or exiting in animated style. Perhaps there may be surprises in the story and you can have an image pop up where you think it might enhance the excitement of it all.
Remember these are youngsters, that will learn and love these stories. None of us every forget them. We remember these stories sometimes better than our own lives.
The gift you are creating will last with this school for the ages. Once finished let me advice you on how to properly save the ppt.
8. Go to File/click on the arrow to get all options/choose Package for Cd/Click the left bottom button Copy to Folder…choose O:drive/Morton/Grade 11/Fairy Tales
